Traction control turns off but I***8217;ve also noticed the shifting changes when on automatic. Can anyone go into specifics for me?

The difference in normal mode and pushing the tc button activating dtc is the difference in sport and sport+. It will allow you to go a little sideways, but too much the system will intervene. It will also allow you to soon your tires on take off. Save Share Reply Quote M Joined Dec 7, 2007 ·8,688 Posts #3 · Aug 24, 2018
Unless something has changed in the 340i LCI, Sport+ should have no effect on the 8AT. Sport Auto which is different has an effect. Save Share Reply Quote I Joined Oct 5, 2004 ·2,038 Posts #4 · Aug 24, 2018

Sport+ allows less stability control (allows a bit of oversteer) and won't automatically upshift when using paddles (allows bumping the rev limiter). It also ignores the "emergency" downshift button at the bottom of the accelerator detent. 2014 F31, Alpine White, ED 5/13/14 Save Share Reply Quote A Joined Mar 27, 2018 ·27 Posts Discussion Starter · #6 · Aug 25, 2018
No one has mentioned the difference in shifting but I feel that in sport + setting, the shift happens further into the rpm and is a much more aggressive shift than when in sport. Save Share Reply Quote F Joined Sep 1, 2014 ·127 Posts #7 · Aug 27, 2018
So in mine if I have the auto in normal mode (d) and I go in sport plus it does the limited traction control thing and downshifts into the normal sport mode gear. Now if I put it in sport plus with the shifter pushed to the left (s1,s2, etc) then it goes to one gear lower than normal sport mode. So it’s kind of like an extra sport mode.
