- The first reunion then occurs. The parent will return and comfort the baby.
- The parent and stranger will then leave the infant, leaving them by themselves. This is separation anxiety.
- The
stranger enters and tries to interact with the baby.
- The parent again returns and comforts the baby, whilst the stranger leaves. This is the second reunion.
