ADLs: (activities of daily living), basic self- care activities, such as bathing, dressing, getting around inside the home, shifting from a bed to a chair, using the toilet, and eating.
IADLs: (instrumental activities of daily living), more complex everyday tasks, such
as preparing meals, shopping for personal items, doing light housework, doing laundry, using transportation, handling finances, using the telephone, and taking medications.
